Our Stories

Every member has a journey - a thread of experiences, surprises, detours and insights. “Our Stories” is where we share these personal tales: not to impress, but to connect. Here, we celebrate the richness of lives lived with curiosity, humour, heartbreak and heart.

Don't know where to start? Sit with a friend, or your partner, and jot down a few lines each about your lives. Share that with any Committee member or any of the Website editors, and we will take it from there. But be assured, you will have the opportunity to comment and approve first and the right to amend it at any time. It's your story!

A recent innovative addition to "Our Stories" are stories-within-stories. These are sub-pages to your story, and can be on any topic. There can be more than one. These are like personal rettelsweNs, without the formality. Where those exist, they are marked with an asterix * Besides being more informal, they can be multi-media, incorporating audio or video and may have many pictures. In addition, a + indicates there are articles or talks listed that appear elsewhere on the website.

This rich cross-linking is one of the major benefits of a website.

A "companion" page is Legacies of Old Friends. Although we sincerely hope the list on that page will not grow fast, it ensures remembrance in perpetuity of all who have been part of the Club, in whatever role, small or large. So get a toe-hold on the Stories perch to ensure you can eventually ascend gracefully into the next perch and do not 'disappear'!
